DMG Supports First CTC Academy Special Needs Dentistry Forum

DMG announces its support of the first special needs dentistry forum hosted by the CTC Academy. The event will take place on Friday, November 1, 2019 at the Academy’s Oakland, New Jersey campus.   

The CTC Academy is a non-profit organization that provides educational and therapeutic services for students with a diverse array of developmental disabilities through its collaborative educational program and support services for students and families.

In alignment with CTC’s organizational mission, the forum will bring awareness to the importance of providing children and adults with special needs effective, regular dental care. Clinicians and dental staff in the greater NY/NJ area are invited to this free event to learn the communications and interpersonal skills needed to deliver effective treatment to patients with special needs.

The inaugural forum is intended for general and pediatric dentists, dental office staff, dental hygienists and dental assistants in the Greater New Jersey area, including New York and neighboring states.  Highlights of the event include:

  • Important insights from Clinical Professor of Pediatric Dentistry and special needs advocate, Dr. Steven Perlman, Registered and Licensed Occupational Therapist, Dr. Laura Bejot, Special Needs Dentist, Dr. Tom Ballesteros and leader of the Special Care Treatment Center at the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Evan Spivack
  • A tour of the state-of-the-art CTC Academy facility to see how it provides education, occupational and other therapies for students and housing opportunities and workforce assistance for adults
